Envision Financial Douglas College Community Building Program

Envision Financial and Douglas College are excited to announce its 7th annual Community Building program is now accepting applications for participation in the 2017-2018 program. Launched in 2012, the Envision Financial Douglas College Community Building Program is an innovative approach to hands-on learning. The program matches non-profit agencies with fourth year Douglas College student-led teams who help agencies by applying market research and problem solving skills to address an operational challenge facing the non-profit group.

Accepting program applications now!

Envision Financial and Douglas College are now accepting project proposals from local non-profit and charitable agencies for its seventh community development project commencing September 2017-April 2018.

Envision Financial and Douglas College designed the community building program to address capacity and knowledge gaps that affect many non-profit agencies—this unique project provides real business experience for students and adds to their classroom learning, while community partners gain valuable business tools and strategies.

The 2017/2018 Envision Financial Douglas College Community Building Program starts with our fall semester—students, working alongside our non-profit partners will explore, investigate and compile academic research that will address your organizational needs. Beginning in early January 2018, our students, using applied research techniques, will be on the ground, working directly with community partners. During this time, students will be connecting regularly with agency partners, developing important insights and observing each organization as it works in its sector. Students will begin to form custom action plans and recommendations to help your agency excel in its mission. Past program partners include: Encompass Community Support Services, Sources BC, Alouette Addictions Services, Coquitlam Foundation, and Eagle Ridge Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store.
